Discoloration removal

Why FOTONA®?

The erbium-yag laser achieves maximum effects of lightening discolorations and evening out the color with minimal depth of penetration and reduced invasiveness for the patient.
The device belongs to the most innovative FOTONA® laser system in the world. In extended pulse mode, the XLP achieves a deep thermal effect. It emits light waves with a length of 2940 nm, and the fractionating head, thanks to the minimal and fast ablation system, immediately removes hot tissue residues, which accelerates healing and reduces unpleasant sensations.

How does laser discoloration removal work?

The laser beam emitted by the FOTONA® erbium-yag laser is absorbed by the skin chromophore, where the photothermolysis process takes place. Melanin, i.e. the pigment accumulated in the discoloration, is coagulated. Because redundant tissues - cells containing melanin - are destroyed, the body needs time to get rid of them. Before it clears of thermolysed melanocytes, the discoloration may be darker. For about 2 weeks, the discoloration will disappear, after this time we can assess the effectiveness of the treatment.
