Who is this treatment for?
Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) is the involuntary urination when the abdominal muscles are tensed while coughing, sneezing, laughing or playing sports. According to statistics, up to 14% of young women and up to 35% of older women suffer from this ailment. Many women with SUI do not seek treatment for their condition because of shame, lack of knowledge about possible treatments, or fear of having surgery.
What can be achieved?
The effects of the treatment appear 2 to 6 months after the procedure and gradually increase as new collagen fibers appear. The improvement of comfort depends on the intensity of the ailments, the previous course of treatment and the patient's age, however, with the Fotona IncontiLase treatment, 90% of patients already have the desired effect after just one treatment.
Course of the procedure:
The Fotona IncontiLase treatment is a minimally invasive and painless treatment method using the Er:YAG laser. The procedure consists in irradiating the mucous tissue in the vicinity of the muscles responsible for the proper retention of urine - the vestibule of the vagina and the anterior wall of the vagina and the urethral opening. Irradiation causes a temporary shrinking reaction of tissues and the collagen contained in them. This reaction, in turn, stimulates tissues to start the process of creating new collagen fibers and improving the density of existing fibers (neocollagenesis and collagen remodeling). By increasing the amount and improving the quality of collagen in the treated tissues, the tension and flexibility of the muscles responsible for urinary continence improves.
